Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Saving for your retirement is an important step to a secure financial future.  CU Hawaii offers IRA Savings Accounts at competitive rates.  All of our IRA Savings Accounts can be used for rollover, transfer or contributory IRAs with no setup charges or annual maintenance fees. The dividends for these accounts are compounded daily and are paid on a monthly basis. Below, find more details on the different types of IRAs we currently offer.  No matter what type of IRA you chose, know that you are taking one step closer to a secure financial future.  See current rate schedule.

Traditional IRAs

With a Traditional IRA, you can contribute all or part of your earned income. The amount of deposit each tax year is established by law. There are some restrictions. Contributions may be deductible. Consult your tax advisor for complete details.

Roth IRAs

The Roth IRA offers many benefits, including the ability to withdraw without paying taxes. Although contributions are not deductible, earnings can be withdrawn after the account has been opened for five years, when your age reaches 59 1/2, become disabled or need to use it for a first-time home purchase. There are some restrictions. Please consult your tax advisor for complete details.
