Sometimes you may be asked to pay for a service or product with a cashier’s check or money order. CU Hawaii’s cashier’s checks and money orders are as good as cash. Safe deposit boxes are available at our Hilo, Kea’au and Kailua-Kona branches. Boxes are rented to our members on a first come first serve basis. Check out our Schedule of Fees for a list of our safe deposit box prices.
Sometimes you need to have documents signed by a Notary Public. At CU Hawaii this service is free to our members. To keep you from having to wait for an available Notary, it is always suggested that members make an appointment for this service.
Like our Notary Service, our Medallion Guarantee is free to our members as well. Because this is a securities transfer, an appointment is required for this service.
CU Hawaii offers American Express Travelers Cheques. When you travel and want another source for making purchases besides using your debit or credit card, traveler’s checks are perfect. American Express Traveler’s Cheques are recognized and accepted internationally and are available in denominations of $50, $100 and $500. If your checks are lost or stolen, don’t worry, they are easily refundable.

Need to send money somewhere fast and secure? A wire transfer is a quick and efficient way to send money locally, nationally or internationally. It’s easy, just empty the contents of your coffee can or jar into the coin machine and let it do the work. You will receive a receipt displaying the total received.
