Membership Savings Account


The Membership Savings Account is the basis for all your accounts at CU Hawaii Federal Credit Union. With only a minimum balance of $50 and a one-time $1 membership fee, you can enjoy the full benefits of being a credit union member! Low interest rates, free online banking and free notary service are just a few of the great benefits of being a member at CU Hawaii.

Here are some of the great features:

  • Access via ATM, Online Banking, Telephone Banking and Mobile Banking available 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

Special Savings


Need to save for a special occasion coming up? Maybe you're planning to purchase a special item for that special someone? Then a Special Savings account is perfect for you. This account is a sub-account that is separate from your Membership Savings Account that can be labeled to suit your needs. You can also setup automatic deposits from your checking and/or other account types.

Here are some of the great features:

  • No minimum balance

  • No monthly or annual fee

  • Dividends are compounded and paid quarterly.




Moola Moola Account


Who is Moola Moola and the Money Minders?

Moola Moola is a magical money monster from the mystical land of Lotta Loot. Moola Moola's friends, the Money Minders are his charmingly colorful sidekicks. Together they make savings FUN and EDUCATIONAL for kids.

The Moola Moola savings club provides tools to help teach and educate your children about financial responsibility in FUN ways! Each keiki receives their own quarterly newsletter, filled with fun activities and special news about their financial friend... Moola Moola!

Children 12 and under can sign up to be a Moola Moola member by depositing $5.00 into their new Moola Moola Account and one-time $1.00 membership fee. For every $5.00 deposit, you receive a stamp and you keep track of these stamps in a special savings book. Stamps can be redeemed for exciting prizes like Movie Ticket Passes! We also have special events throughout the year like Moola Moola's Birthday Bash celebration!

When your child reaches the age of 18, this account will convert to a Membership Savings Account. All new account minimum balances and requirements will apply.





Kids Club Account


Our Kids Club Account is a savings account specifically designed for youths between the ages of 13-17 years old. This special account provides our youth and young adults with a savings product to help manage their own money. Open a Kids Club Account for your child with a low minimum deposit of $5.00 and a one-time, $1.00 membership fee. Start saving for your child's future financial needs with a CU Hawaii Kids Account!

Here are some of the great features:

  • Earn dividends when maintaining an average daily balance of $100.00 or more

  • Dividends are compounded and paid quarterly.

When your child reaches the age of 18, this account will convert to a Membership Savings Account. All new account minimum balances and requirements will apply.




Money Market


Increase your potential to earn more dividends with CU Hawaii's Money Market Account. It is a great tiered account for those who wish to save larger amounts without locking the funds in a certificate type product.

A minimum initial deposit of $2500 is needed to open a Money Market Account. Your account starts earning interest with a minimum balance of $25,000. There is a maximum of 6 withdrawals/transfers a month. However, after the third withdrawal/transfer, a fee will apply (see schedule of fees). Certain restrictions apply.




Individual Retirement Arrangement (IRAs)


An Individual Retirement Arrangement can help you to meet your retirement goals. At CU Hawaii we offer two IRA programs, Traditional and Roth. Open an Individual Retirement Arrangement and start making your contributions today. You can also rollover or make a direct transfer of money from another retirement arrangement. There are no setup charges or annual maintenance fees.

Traditional IRA


With a traditional IRA you can make contributions whenever you want. The amount of deposit each tax year is established by law. Contributions may be tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor for complete details.

Roth IRA


A Roth IRA offers a number of benefits that may better fit your needs. A Roth IRA allows the account owner to set aside after-tax income up to a specific amount each year. In return for no up-front tax break, your money grows tax free. Consult your tax advisor for complete details on the benefits of a Roth IRA.




Certificates


CU Hawaii offers both short term and long term Share and IRA Certificates. Typically certificates offer a higher dividend rate than a regular savings account. Find a certificate term that will work best for you! Early withdrawal penalties may apply.
