Member Service Representative (West Hawaii)

Serve as a liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, and professionally handle the member’s daily needs. Provide a variety of transactional services to members.

 Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be a self-motivated team player who is flexible with working hours.
  • Computer proficient; able to operate Microsoft Office.  
  • Possess basic; reading, writing, math, and cash handling skills.
  • Able to learn and retain knowledge of; all MSR duties and responsibilities, Credit Union policies, and Federal Regulations.

Mortgage Loan Processor (East Hawaii)

Responsible to provide support in processing mortgage loan applications.  This includes First Mortgages, Home Equity Line of Credit, Vacant Land and mortgage refinances.  The processor will also help to ensure that loans are processed timely and meet target closing dates by reviewing applications and loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance. 

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Maintain knowledge of credit union policies and procedures and applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Review and process real-estate applications.
  • Obtain and evaluate credit bureau reports on applicants, verify debts, and estimate monthly payments for all outstanding debts including debts not listed in the credit report and add them to debts on application.
  • Ensure that each real-estate loan is processed accurately.
  • Review loan approvals to determine what documents are required to move to closing and prepare the closing packet.
  • Utilize pipeline reports to effectively manage and prioritize daily workflow to meet established Mortgage Process Service Loan Agreement (SLA) guidelines. 
  • Pay title company fees for title searches, legal work, and appraisals.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance and taxes on real-estate loans. 
  • Notify the VP of Lending or Loan Manager of any factor(s) that may affect lending policies and procedures and recommend appropriate changes to address those factors.
  • Other duties as/or assigned by management.

Management Trainee (East Hawaii)

Management Trainee has the opportunity to work in several departments across the credit union to explore a path toward a future leadership role that best suits the person and meets the needs of the organization. Management Trainee will receive training, mentorship, exposure to a wide range of projects, and growth opportunities. The Management Trainee program is for two years, with possible modifications in duration depending on the individual’s goals and/or organization’s priorities. After completion of the program, the Management Trainee may have an opportunity to be placed for ongoing work in collaboration with HR, usually as an Assistant Operations Supervisor, Loan Officer, or an equivalent role.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Meet with the Training Specialist to outline goals during the term of the program, review the rotation schedule, and go through onboarding training.
  • Proactively communicate with department managers and colleagues to seek out ways to contribute to the department as well as learn about the work of the credit union in that role.
  • Attend monthly cohort meetings with other Management Trainees to share about the learning journey and to provide feedback to the Training Specialist about what is working and what is not.
  • Present reports (written and/or verbal) to the President/CEO, the Management Team, and others as needed.
  • Provide manpower and support for special projects and community development efforts as assigned.
  • Undergo performance appraisals provided by the department manager and in collaboration with HR to receive feedback to improve performance.
  • Perform tasks and/or projects assigned by each department head.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by various department managers.

IT & Cybersecurity Specialist (East Hawaii)

Install, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware and peripheral equipment. Provide input on the efficiency of the credit union’s technology infrastructure to include hubs, switches, enterprise routers, servers, and network hardware and software. Coordinate technology needs with outsourced vendors for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Assist the Information Technology Supervisor/Manager or VP of Support Services in researching, planning, and implementing new technologies to improve member access and staff efficiency. Focus on cybersecurity by performing weekly vulnerability assessments and addressing findings by their severity rating (e.g. Critical, High, Medium, Low). Work with 3rd party vendors, auditors, and NCUA examiners on IT audits and vulnerability assessments. Manage e-waste program with proper destruction of sensitive data/devices along with proper documentation. Maintain Information Security Program and Incident Response Plan. Troubleshoot all IT-related issues and any tasks as assigned by the IT Supervisor/Manager or VP of Support Services.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • General Duties:
    • Support the credit union’s local area and wide area network hardware and software to ensure that back-end functions, systems, PCs, servers, and all peripheral products are operational.
    • Investigate new techniques, equipment, and data processing methods. Evaluate technical requirements for new or upgrades in hardware/software.
    • Research and diagnose IT problems within the entire infrastructure, troubleshoot, and provide solutions. Test solutions to ensure a correct solution.
    • Coordinate technology resources including main system, telecommunications network, telephone system(s), and personal computer connectivity.
    • Evaluate and procure new technology and computer supplies according to budgetary line items.
    • Keep abreast of state-of-the-art hardware/software developments.
    • Ensure that all software licenses are maintained.
    • Provide individual support to end users to answer questions or resolve problems.
    • Install, configure, and test new servers and equipment.
    • Perform data processing on the in-house core financial system, which includes month-end processing and system upgrades (after hours).
  • Cybersecurity Duties:
    • Recommend new technologies that enhance the efficiency and security of the network infrastructure.
    • Perform security analysis of operational and training environments, threats, vulnerabilities, and internal interfaces to define and assess compliance with accepted industry standards.
    • Oversees configuration and management of auditing and vulnerability-scanning systems to ensure appropriate security posture.
    • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and/or penetration tests and address vulnerabilities through software patching, configurations, and other risk mitigation tactics.
    • Make recommendations and budget planning for new hardware, software, or procedural improvements to further enhance CU Hawaii’s security posture.
    • Review log activity through SIEM or log-monitoring system and address any security alerts triggered by said system.
    • Work with the Training Department to develop and mature any relevant security awareness training for new employees.
    • Performs and logs data destruction tasks on damaged or end-of-life data devices such as hard drives, tapes, and other storage media no longer in service.
    • Work with vendors and the NCUA in gathering items and responding to audits and examinations.
    • Assist with generalist duties as needed

 Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be a self-motivated team player who is flexible with working hours.
  • Proficient in computer hardware/software, networking, virtual server environments, and SAN/NAS systems.
  • Expertise in any of the following areas: Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy (GPOs), SSL Certificates, LAN Optimization, Cisco (Router Configuration), and Computer Programming. 
  • Ability to assist employees and members in troubleshooting computer-related issues.
  • Possess basic; reading, writing, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate and maintain; analytical skills, accuracy, ability to work independently and multitask, time management, professionalism, a positive energetic attitude, good oral/written communication, problem-solving, commitment to service, and confidentiality.
