Business Member Spotlight: BOUND. Hawai'i
10/27/2026
There’s something special about seeing a young member grow into a successful business owner—and being part of that journey every step of the way.
This month, CU Hawai'i FCU is proud to spotlight Crimson Hasegawa, owner of Bound Hawaii, a locally owned jewelry business creating meaningful pieces designed to celebrate connection, milestones, and the bonds that matter most. What makes Crimson's story especially meaningful to us is that her relationship with CU Hawai'i didn't begin when she started her business—it began years earlier as a keiki member opening her very first account.
Jewelry That Means Something
For Crimson, jewelry is more than an accessory—it's a way to tell a story.
Inspired by the relationships that shape our lives, Bound Hawai'i creates custom, Hawaiʻi-inspired jewelry designed to celebrate meaningful connections. From permanent jewelry and bracelets to earrings and other accessories, each piece is crafted with the intention of becoming part of someone's personal journey.
Using quality materials such as solid gold, sterling silver, jade, and more, Bound Hawai'i creates pieces designed to be worn and treasured every day. Beyond the jewelry itself, Crimson aims to create an experience that feels welcoming and personal.
"I want to create an environment where people feel comfortable being creative," Crimson shares. "You may start as a stranger, but I hope you leave as a friend."
From Keiki Member to Business Owner
Long before launching Bound Hawaii in 2023, Crimson's CU Hawai'i FCU story began in 2018 when she opened a Moola Moola Account—known today as our Keiki Club Account.
Encouraged by her father to learn financial responsibility at an early age, Crimson says her membership helped build money management skills that continue to serve her today.
"Being a member at a young age helped me become financially responsible," she says. "The Keiki Account was really useful because my dad could easily transfer funds to me while also helping me keep track of my spending."
Like many young members, Crimson's first account was a small step that eventually became part of a much larger journey.
A Full-Circle Moment
When it came time to choose a financial institution for her business, returning to CU Hawai'i FCU felt like a natural decision.
"The convenience drew us in, but the warm reception made us stay," Crimson says.
Today, she continues to utilize CU Hawai'i's products and services for both her personal and business banking needs.
"I really value the drive-through tellers at CU Hawai'i. Owning a business means I'm constantly balancing multiple responsibilities, and being able to handle transactions quickly saves me valuable time. It's a small convenience that makes a big difference."
Growing Together
Crimson's journey reflects what CU Hawai'i FCU is all about—supporting members through every stage of life. From a first savings account as a keiki to launching and growing a successful business, we're proud to help members pursue their goals and build their futures.
We are honored to be part of Crimson's story and excited to see what's next for Bound Hawai'i.
